Day Thirteen: Get Ready

In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah: “A voice of one calling in the wilderness, ‘Prepare the way for the Lord, make straight paths for him.’” (Matthew 3:1–3)

Devotional

God is always faithful to his promises. You can see this through Matthew’s reference back to the book of Isaiah. Jesus was ALWAYS a part of his plan. John the Baptist came to help prepare the people for Jesus’s arrival. What if we did the same? Ask the Holy Spirit, “Prepare my heart and mind for this coming season. Help me let go of the things that hinder me from seeing your kingdom in the now and not yet.”
