In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. (John 1:1–5)
God spoke and all of creation came into being. That’s an incredible amount of power to come through just a word. When God speaks, things come to life!
In what area of your life do you need a word from God? Is there anything that needs the life-giving power of God? Because of Jesus, that same life-giving power lives within us, too. Take a minute and speak words of life over somebody who needs encouragement.
God, thank you that just a word from you has the power to change things, and bring things to life! Would you reveal the areas in my life that need a fresh word from you. Would you help me use that same power to speak words of life into the people and situations around me?
