Week Two, Day Three

Read

“But you, Israel, my servant,

    Jacob, whom I have chosen,

    you descendants of Abraham my friend,

I took you from the ends of the earth,

    from its farthest corners I called you.

I said, ‘You are my servant’;

    I have chosen you and have not rejected you.

So do not fear, for I am with you;

    do not be dismayed, for I am your God.

I will strengthen you and help you;

    I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

(Isaiah 41:8-10)

Pray

Father, I don’t understand all the ways you work, but I know that you are working. You know my worries and concerns. Help me to name them. Give me the courage to face them and tell you about them instead of distracting myself from them. Help me to identify what feels dark to me so that I can be receptive to the light you bring. I pray you would help me remember that you are King and nothing is outside of your control. Your way is better than anything I could arrange on my own. May your will be done in my life.
