The beginning of wisdom is to humbly recognize you don’t know everything. You can’t learn and grow if you think you already know it all. There’s something, and someone, bigger than you who created, sustains, and knows all things¬—God.
We would do well to revere and obey him, not for fear of divine punishment, but in humble recognition that he is greater than us and sees and knows things we don’t. When we acknowledge that there’s a God and that we are not God, we become humble and teachable. That’s the foundation of wisdom.
